Significant Weather Event Expected

Environment Canada is warning of a significant weather event expected to hit Southern and a large portion of Northern  Ontario. Threats include significant snowfall, strong winds, blowing snow, reduced visibility, rain, ice, flash freezes, black ice, utility outages and cold temperatures beginning December 22 through to at least December 24.


  • Residents are reminded to have an emergency kit prepared in the case of outages or being snowed in.
  • When out, wear proper footwear for the conditions, warm snow gear, and be visible.
  • Crews will be out to clear snow/ice as appropriate but travelers should expect delays.
  • Hazardous travel conditions are expected. Please help keep our community safe by slowing down when driving.
  • Use good judgement and be prepared.
