Energy Management

The Conservation and Demand Management Plan serves as the framework for energy management within The Village of Burk’s Falls operations. Developed through collaboration with key departments, it aims to seamlessly integrate energy management across the entire organization.

Under the Green Energy Act Municipal Reporting requirements, energy conservation plays a pivotal role in Ontario's efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions and enhance its energy infrastructure. The new provincial regulation mandates that all public agencies, including municipalities, report their annual energy consumption and formulate a five-year energy conservation demand management plan.

Energy reporting and conservation planning will enable The Village of Burk’s Falls to:

  1. Effectively manage electricity usage and associated costs.
  2. Identify optimal practices and opportunities for energy savings.
  3. Assess and benchmark energy consumption levels.
  4. Establish objectives and gauge the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
