Open House-Official Plan


You are invited to an Open House:


Date:            Wednesday October 27th

Time:            1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm

                      (This will be an informal drop-in center)

Location:     220 Centre Street, Armour Ryerson Burk’s Falls Arena


The Village of Burk’s Falls has initiated a project to update the Village of Burk’s Falls Official Plan and to

develop a Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the Village.


An Official Plan provides the Village with a framework for development and growth in the Village. The

current Official Plan was approved in 2011. The Planning Act requires that the Village undertake an

update to their Official Plan at least every ten years.


The Comprehensive Zoning By-law regulates the use of land on a site-level basis. Burk’s Falls does not

currently have a Comprehensive Zoning By-law, this project will develop the comprehensive zoning bylaw

for the community.


The purpose of this Open House will be to introduce the project, provide opportunity for feedback on the

current planning documents and provide a timeline for the approval of an updated Official Plan and a

Comprehensive Zoning By-law. The consulting team will be on hand to answer questions.


There will be a number of opportunities to be involved in the project. This introduction meeting will be an

informal Open House. The Public Meeting pursuant to the Planning Act (Ontario) will be conducted at a

later date to be undertaken by the Village of Burk’s Falls.
