THE VILLAGE OF BURK’S FALLS
COUNCIL MINUTES

The regular meeting of the Burk’s Falls Council was called to order at 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. All members of Council and Village Foreman Len Hall were present.

There were no delegations at this meeting.

Ron Russell declared a conflict of interest on the Driveway Permit Application and Lewis Hodgson declared a conflict of interest on the Crossing Guard Applications.

Len Hall gave his report and answered questions from Council.

Applications for the Crossing Guard positions were opened and Council short listed to 4 applicants. They will be asked to provide a police check and will be informed of the times required, starting date and proposed remuneration. Interviews will be set once the applicants have confirmed they are still interested.

Public washroom building, recreation trails and the Health Centre were the major items of discussion.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls accept the renewal for fire dispatch contract with Parry Sound Ambulance Communication Service to commence January 1, 2010 and expire on December 31, 2012.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls will close the Municipal Office from 12 noon on December 24, 2009 to December 30, 2009. The office will be open December 31, 2009 with normal office hours, closed on January 1, 2010 and will resume normal office hours on January 4, 2010.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls approve the driveway entrance permit as submitted by Darlene Russell for Concession 8 Lot 11.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls accept the Accounts Payable as presented up to and including November 24, 2009 in the amount of $107,264.32 and hereby authorize the Clerk/Treasurer to issue cheques for same.
