THE VILLAGE OF BURK’S FALLS
COUNCIL MINUTES

The regular meeting of the Burk’s Falls Council was held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 7:00 pm in the Burk’s Falls Council Chambers.
Present were Reeve – Cathy Still, Councillors – Ron Russell, Bruce Campbell, Lewis Hodgson, and Rex Smith.
There were no delegations to see council.

Village Foreman – Len Hall gave his report.

The following resolutions were passed:

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls adopts the Minutes of the July 29, 2008 meeting as circulated.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls approve the Application to conduct a Break Open Ticket Lottery as presented by the Almaguin Bowlers Association provided all regulations are adhered to.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls have read and approve By-Law 24-2008 being a by-law to approve a policy to prescribe the accounting treatment for tangible capital assets;

And that Council authorizes the Reeve and the Clerk to sign this by-law and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto

The Village of Burk’s Falls appoints Jennifer Furtney to the South Almaguin Highlands Economic Development Committee.

The Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls have read the Memorandum of Agreement between Square B Properties Inc and the Corporation of the Village of Burk’s Falls;

Now Therefore the Council for the Village of Burk’s Falls hereby authorizes the Reeve and the Clerk/Treasurer to sign this Memorandum of Agreement on behalf of the Municipality and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto.

We accept the Accounts Payable as presented up to and including August 26, 2008 in the amount of $303,779.52 and that we authorize the Clerk/Treasurer to issue cheques for same.
